History
Established in 1989 as a supplier of point of sale merchandisers, Rack has evolved to become the UK’s leading OEM (original equipment manufacturer) to the office furniture industry. Working in close co-operation with its customers Rack specialises in the design, development and manufacture of tubular and sheet metal sub-assemblies and ancillary products for office and educational furniture.

Products

With a particular emphasis on office desks, Rack manufactures an extensive portfolio of workspace components including electrically operated under-frames for sit/stand desks, beam and bench systems desks, flip top table mechanisms, meeting table under-structures and stools for break out areas. In addition to this Rack also manufactures a collection of complementary integrated office screens and provides a growing range of upholstered products to its key accounts.

Whilst Rack’s core manufacturing competencies remain those of welding, laser cutting (tube & sheet), flow drilling, punching and powder coating, changing fashions in furniture design and Rack’s desire to provide its customers with a ‘one stop shop’ have driven Rack to diversify and start working with a broader range of materials. Consequently Rack’s core manufacturing competencies now also include CNC machining of wooden panels, CNC fabric cutting, the provision of sewing & upholstery services and the design and procurement of aluminium extrusions and plastic injection moulded parts.
